THE TEDDY BEAR EDUCATION ASSOCIATION

tree

Seb you scallywag! Get out of that tree beforeyou fall out.--- Isn't he clean? He's just had a wash--Dad.

Seb loves to get washed, he loves to get wet any way he can, but Gie is just the opposite, he hates water!

The thing that Gie is most afraid of, is being pegged out on a clothes line, by his ears, to dry. He knows that Tracey and Mam would never do a thing like that to any teddy, but he knows also that not all people are as kind as they are.

People are not cruel to teddy bears, but very often they don't know when they hurt their feelings, so Gie and Seb (I say Gie first because he is the oldest) decided to try to teach folk how a teddy would like to you to treat him -or her if it is a tessy bear.

They are starting T.E.A.(Seb thought of the name of course, he is always drinking his "Yorkshire Tea") The letters T.E.A stand for Teddies Education Association, and they are making out a guide on how to treat teddies.

The main points are---

  1. Teddies must always be treated with respect, and looked after properly.
  2. Teddies must never ever be pegged on clothes lines by their ears!
  3. If a person owns only one teddy, they should cuddle it at least once a day.
  4. People who own two teddies should cuddle one each day, making sure that they both get a turn.
  5. When a person has three or more teddies, they are advised to keep them all together, so that they are company for each other, and to visit and play with them often.
  6. You may let your teddies be just a little bit cheeky, if it is in good fun, but a teddy must never be allowed to be too cheeky, or to be nasty to anybody.
  7. Teddies must not be put onto the front of motor cars or other vehicles, as well as being cold, it is very undignified.
  8. If you must take a teddy on a bicycle or three wheeler, make sure that it is safe for both you and ted.
  9. If a person decides that they do not want a teddy any longer--some folk think you can grow too old to keep them, but we don't think so--they should try to find it a good home, where it will be loved and wanted
